Below are all the basic information about the advanced pet system:

• On drop, each expanded pet receives a random bonus
  
• The second random bonus is added with pet level 21
  
• The third random bonus is added with pet level 41
  
• The first bonus is fixed and cannot be changed.
  
• The second and third bonuses can be changed using a Pet Enchantment
  
• The maximum pet level is 50
  
• All bonuses increase in percentage with each level up to the maximum value of level 50.

In summary, the following applies:
There are many different extended pets, all of which only differ in appearance.
Getting a "perfect" pet is only possible if the first - unchangeable - bonus is what you want.
Depending on which bonus slot a bonus lands on, it will have large or small jumps per level.
However, no matter which bonus slot it is on, each bonus will reach the maximum bonus value at the maximum pet level.
